Map of Suffrage Sites near the State House

Park St etc map, detail, edit - Copy.jpg

1895 Sanborn map, detail showing the block across Beacon Street from the Massachusetts State House. The block is bounded by Park, Beacon, and Tremont Streets. I marked up the map (cryptically) to show suffrage sites. Tremont Temple, shown bottom right in gold, across Tremont Street, was also used for suffrage rallies. (More information on the sites is here.) Sanborn Fire Insurance Map from Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, vol. 1 (New York: Sanborn Map Company, 1895), sheet 24 (image 36 of 97), Library of Congress, here and here.
