Ditches in the salt marshes are my latest focus of research. Very local, like in almost my backyard, yet common along the whole Northeast coast. Historical, from early 1600s settlers, yet early 1900s mosquito ditches are maintained and expanded these days. Easy to see these from the air, like in Google Satellite View or our recent book Seacoast Scituate By Air. For more, check out the Ditches tab on this website.
