Suffrage Sites Added to Trail

The National Votes for Women Trail is at http://ncwhs.org/votes-for-women-trail/#trail. It is a virtual (online) trail and a good idea. I noticed that it had no South Shore suffrage sites (nice alliteration!) and few of the sites I have been working on. So I spent a day filling out forms online and yesterday entered about 14 sites. Today, many have shown up. Yay! If you zoom in on the map you can see some of them (covered elsewhere on this website). And Scituate is on the map, for the final resting place of suffragists Inez Haynes Irwin and her husband Will Irwin.

You can submit other sites. It is pretty easy.

Ditches in the salt marshes are my latest focus of research. Very local, like in almost my backyard, yet common along the whole Northeast coast. Historical, from early 1600s settlers, yet early 1900s
